ECO DESIGN/BUILD

BT - Big Timberworks
The renovation added a south-facing shed dormer for increased daylight and warmth, and a suspended balcony. The siding is reclaimed pickle tank redwood and the roofing is rusted corrugated metal.

Alley House Renovation

After purchasing an existing town residence rather than eating up rural farmland, the owner wanted to utilize the best form of recycling: refurbishment and renovation.

To maintain the history of the back alley 1930’s dairy barn, BT utilized unique sustainable materials. Horse trailer mats of recycled rubber cover the floor of this guest house, and retired Bridger Bowl ski lift cables made into handrails help you up the stairs. High value insulation along with strategic south-facing, heat collecting windows keep energy bills down.

Almost every piece of material in this historic but modern building is recycled. It’s so comfortable, the owner’s only problem is getting guests to leave.
