ECO DESIGN/BUILD

BT - Big Timberworks
One gets the sense of the building sinking in this design that features a sloping ridgeline and sloping sidewalls. The river rock roof helps tie the structure to local river scapes.

Old River Farm Guest House

This downsizing family needed to creatively take advantage of limited, but stunning views at their riverside property. They wanted a building that looked agricultural in nature, blending with the surrounding farmlands.

To get a really old, established look, BT uniquely designed a ridgeline that gives the appearance that the home was leaning from decades of use. Willows from the property were used throughout the house and sections of roof utilized rocks to protect the seamless rubber membrane roof. The innovative heating system included a Rinnai on-demand, suitcase-size boiler to heat floor slabs and domestic water.

Appearing to lean and fit the landscape on the outside, the 100% recycled interior gives a clean, modern feel to reclaimed woods and rusty metals.
